Manly Warringah Minor League
Manly Warringah Minor League is a baseball competition for men and women 15 years and over.
It was a day for hitters but definitely not pitchers in the scorching heat at Aquatic Reserve as the Summer League finals got underway this afternoon.
In the Major Semi Final, the Big Dogs came out swinging to post a 9 run first inning and pile on a further 10 runs in the 2nd to blow out to a 19-3 lead. The Redbacks refused to give up, mounting a stunning comeback but ultimately falling short (20-17). The Big Dogs are through to the Grand Final.
In the Elimination Semi Final, the Forest Brewers gave up 7 first innings runs as the Pittwater bats also came out firing. A fine rearguard was mounted, but ultimately they left themselves too much to do, going down 8-6. Pittwater advance to the Elimination Final next week.
Join us at Aquatic Reserve at 2pm next Saturday as the Redbacks and Pittwater go head to head in the Elimination Final for the right to play the Big Dogs in the Grand Final.
Special thanks to the MWBU umpires who backed up after their junior finals commitments to work through the senior finals. Your efforts as always, are greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to the Redbacks on claiming the MWML Summer League Minor Premiership.
The Redbacks team left their run late, scoring 11 runs in the last inning in their final game to take a 13-12 victory and clinch the top spot.
Good luck to all teams in the finals, commencing at Aquatic Reserve on Saturday, 24th February at 2pm.

Minor League baseball’s new website is an important part of the information cycle and its aim is to promote baseball within the community and give the players and friends information about the sport in Manly Warringah.
A decision was taken to allow Minor League to have their own website, that way, all of the relevant information pertaining to minor league would be able to be consolidated in one place for its members.
We hope you enjoy using this site and with time and member input, it will grow to be an informative database that our members can refer to for all of their information about baseball in the Manly Warringah area.
We wish to thank our generous sponsors for their support of the Manly Warringah Minor League.
